In his executive capacity he has built companies from the ground up to become industry leaders in their segments. Mike currently sits on various company boards and is chair of the board for Mr. Lube. His expertise in M&A activity is highly regarded in the marketplace.
Partner Al Cave has 30 years of experience in the foodservice and retail industries. He has owned and operated his own businesses and been involved in the leadership and management of startup and leading national brands. Al is known for an ability to combine a strategic 50,000-foot best in class vision with a tactical stringent attention to detail. His breadth of experience from working across Canada and the US with a variety of foodservice companies brings the MR MIKES team valued expertise to the development of long-term growth, branding and operational strategies for companies in their portfolio.
Sheryl Pringle has close to 10 years of senior accounting experience within a variety of industries including technology, non-profit and the hospitality and foodservice sector. Sheryl was formerly with one of Canada’s largest casual dining restaurant chains and is now transposing that experience to one of Canada’s fastest growing restaurant chains, MR MIKES. To bring franchisees into fiscal prosperity Sheryl promotes strong financial discipline, the value of corporate culture, and a commitment to social responsibility and the environment.
Tony Zidar is a diverse operational leader in hospitality with over 25 years of experience spanning many different sectors of the industry. Over his career, Tony has gained his expertise developing concepts and talent grids within sole proprietorships, franchise environments and publicly held companies. In his leadership roles, Tony has been tasked with leading and growing large high performing teams, turning around under-performing concepts, and developing exciting and fresh new concepts for expansion and growth. Tony is an active member of the hospitality industry and has had seats on the Board of Advisors for the programs at both George Brown College and Georgian College.
Don Gowan has over twenty years of senior management experience in numerous sectors, most recently, managing a large region for the world’s largest Caterpillar dealer. Don has also worked in the not-for-profit sector and has many years of international experience in the consumer-packaged goods and logistics sector with Canadian Springs Water Company, a subsidiary of Groupe Danone, and other global brands. Don is active on several boards including the College of New Caledonia, The Spirit of the North Healthcare Foundation and has been a lifelong member of Kiwanis International.
Taili Coates is an accomplished marketer with 20 years in the hospitality industry, for both corporate owned and franchise chain restaurant concepts. During this time, Taili has created and led the strategy for brand development, franchisee relations, digital and social media marketing innovations and remarkable gift card sales growth. She has a demonstrated talent for leadership and strategic planning and fiercely believes that the guest experience should be a key objective of every marketing plan. Taili has developed countless successful programs to drive guest count through in house promotions, national advertising campaigns, social media amplification and integrated PR and Influencer programs with a broad reach to new guests with a food, bar, and lifestyle interest.
